Japan-A-Radio

So, it is Saturday night and I'm grading papers and trying to get my report cards done.  And as I take a break and post, I am listening to all the best and newest Japanese pop and anime soundtracks.  How, you must be asking yourself, can Hale do that?  Well, I am tuned in to Japan-A-Radio, a web radio site for Otaku like myself.  It is a goofy obsession, but it makes me smile and it makes working on grading on a Saturday night instead of, you know, going out and having an actual life, a little more bearable.  Anyway, they are on itunes radio under international, or you can tune in directly from their website, www.japanaradio.com.

Thanks for the lead.

Have you ever seen Laputa - Island in the Sky? Same guy who did Akira.

AWESOME. Excellent, highly detailed illustrations. Amazing stuff, and a wondeful story line.

My son and I are fans when we're together.

I do the same thing when I'm in class. I listen to island music from Hawaii under the international radio stations in itunes. It's hard for me to work unless there's music in the background. It's comforting to see that I'm not the only one grading papers on weekends...sad, but comforting.

Hi Hale,
My oldest son is so into anime - I think he might have every Dragonball Z video/DVD ever released. Of course, he doesn't have enough money for rent (he's 23), but he's got one awesome DVD collection! (Please not sarcasm here.) And his collection of video game soundtracks takes up a half the files in my itunes library. I'm going to tell him about this station. Thanks!

Karen,
Awesome. I have been an anime fan for a long time now. And I too have video game soundtracks on my ipod. Final Fantasy, anyone?
Anyway, good to hear that there are others out there like me, even if they are young enough to be my co-workers children!

8 of 16.
I'll leave it at that.
Perhaps we'll revive the blogging next semester and make some changes.
